Kelmarna Gardens is a space for everyone, open seven days a week through the pedestrian gate at the Hukanui Crescent entrance.
Our Shop hours are Wednesday (10am - 4pm) and Saturday (9am - 12pm), though you are welcome to walk around outside of these times.
The gardens are maintained by our staff and team of dedicated volunteers, with the support of our wonderful community partners. A number of groups and volunteers have their own plots, and often cook meals, with the vegetables they’ve grown, in an onsite kitchen. Staple food grown includes potatoes, pumpkins, courgettes, sweet corn, salad plants as well as medicinal plants and herbs. Seedlings are germinated organically on site in the glass houses.
Feel free to pop in and wander the grounds and enjoy the peaceful country environment. You'll find chickens, vegetable gardens, a pony, a food forest, beehives, worm farms, compost making, and native trees and flax.
As Kelmarna is an inclusive space where organic food is grown, please be mindful of the vegetables and walk with care. A great deal of work goes into cultivating the space that we share and all of the plants and produce in it, so please also refrain from picking or harvesting anything from the gardens. Instead, visit our farm shop to take home delicious, local organic produce and proudly support us in the process.
